Snowflake Bentley Only two days after we came back from Christmas break, we heard it was going to snow. Of course, in Alabama especially central and south that is a BIG deal. On January 7th, around 11:00 it began to snow. The kids could hardly stay in their seats. We took black paper and went outside to catch snowflakes. I wanted my students to discover the unique shapes each flake had. With this discover, the students were comparing flakes!!!! They were looking at size and shape. This was a good time to read Snowflake Bentley and allow the students to recreate that memory.
